Despite years of stagnation, the village renewal of Traubing could still come to an end: progress was made in a large group of all those involved in the process.

Traubing

- Many people from Traubing have almost given up their hopes for village renewal.

Now there seems to be a light on the horizon for the project, which has been delayed for years.

All those involved recently met in the Tutzing town hall for a large group, as community manager Marcus Grätz said in a conversation with the Starnberger Merkur.

In addition to the leading office for rural development, the municipality and other responsible bodies, the Starnberger See wastewater association also took part.

It has evidently made considerable progress - after many concerns and demands from the Weilheim water management office because of the streams in the village.

Weilheimer Strasse is supposed to start.

The village renewal should extend in the first section from the square at the former Alter Wirt inn to the war memorial with the renovation of the bridge there and the Stadler inn.

This means that practically the entire town center becomes a construction site - a village renewal in the sense of the word.

The Free State of Bavaria pays half.

For the municipality of Tutzing, which has to bear the other half, the municipal council still has to approve the money.

According to Grätz, planning costs of 50,000 euros are in the budget for 2021.

He expects the work on Weilheimer Straße to be completed in 2022 and 2023.

Starnberger Strasse, originally intended as a prelude, has yet to wait.

It has been more than ten years since the preparatory work began.

The citizens put a lot of effort into it and also got involved in the “Participation Community Traubing”, which forms the interface to the Office for Rural Development and thus to the Free State.

So far there is little concrete.

There are also some other downsides in Traubing.

Three committed citizens make no secret of this: Peter Stich and Vitus Schlechtleitner, first and second chairman of the Traubinger Association, as well as the entrepreneur Heinz Kagerbauer.

A little sadness can be heard: Traubing is no longer an independent municipality, as it was until the regional reform in the 1970s.

In remote districts, some people feel cut off from the center.

But there are signs of improvement in some respects, such as the new cemetery at the moment.

The problem children are, for example, the cemetery wall, which collapsed in 2017 - an obstacle to all activities in the village and to village renewal.

Even in the town hall one does not really understand why there is nothing new about the wall renovation from the diocese.

Another theme is the playground on the Keltenweg in Ried.

When it was closed in 2019, the shooting club Edelweiß Traubing felt ignored, says Kagerbauer, because, with the support of the community, they once set it up at great expense.

Now Grätz has found a way out with the parish: As reported, a new playground is to be built next to the Church of the Birth of Mary.

For Grätz, the slope is “a great solution”: central, close to school, kindergarten and sports field.

The diocese of Augsburg agreed that a contract had been in place for two weeks.

A versatile new play equipment is already in stock for the new place, and the popular cable car from the Ried is to be rebuilt if possible.
