aAfter three years and a complaint from the supervisory authority, the majority of the Herrsching municipal council remains with it: There will still be twin streets in Herrsching.

Herrsching -

Wolfgang Schnetzer, who applied for a street name change three years ago, followed the debate from the grandstand in the Martinshalle, where the meeting took place due to the corona.

Because he wore a mask like everyone else in the hall, there was no reaction on his face.

But maybe he hadn't expected anything else.

It remains to be seen what the District Office does now, which expressly demands a “clear structure” of the street names from the municipality.

"Let's take it down," said Christina Reich (CSU), among others.

From the very first sentence, Mayor Christian Schiller did not make a murder pit out of his heart.

He recalled several times that the streets in question, Seestraße and Kapellenweg, have existed since the regional reform in 1978, when the then independent municipality of Breitbrunn Herrsching was assigned.

“For 50 years,” he kept saying.

What he didn't say is that the five-digit postcode that makes double naming a problem has only existed since 1993.

Since then, Breitbrunn and Herrsching have shared a zip code: 82211. Breitbrunn previously had 8081, Herrsching 8036.

Schnetzer moved to Kapellenweg in Breitbrunn in 2013 and has been living with false mail deliveries ever since.

So he wants the church to take care of the matter.

Dr.

Matthias Pickart, who lives on Kapellenweg in Herrsching, supports a renaming.

He had almost found a solution for Herrsching when his neighbors thwarted his plans and yet did not want the company to be renamed (we reported).

That has not changed after two hearings on both Kapellenwege and the two lakeside roads.

One in Herrsching addresses, among others, the Schindlbeck Clinic, the other the alternative care for the elderly in Breitbrunn.

There are also numerous households.

In the most recent hearing in Breitbrunn there were only three positive responses out of 62.

For Kapellenweg there were two positive responses out of a total of twelve.

It was similar at the first hearing, when the town council decided to leave everything as it is.

Schnetzer had then submitted a technical complaint.

The game started over.

FDP councilor Alexander Keim probably also thought of such a thing when he suggested taking it sporty and letting the local residents compete in a tug of war.

Council colleague Claudia von Hirschfeld (BGH), herself a lawyer, interpreted the letter from the district office as a clear request, against which the council, however, spoke out with 19: 4 votes.

According to the hearing, the majority of the citizens' will was probably more sacred to the majority.

In the end, the councilors were bellicose: "Put the lid on," said Christina Reich, "Let's have a look," Wolfgang Schneider (SPD).
