A man is said to have died in Tölzer Land wearing a mask intended to protect against corona.
We're investigating the rumor - and only need a few calls.
In Tölzer Land, a man is said to have died because of the corona mask.
At least that's what the group "Lateral Thinking 8041" claims.
The rumor is easy to refute.

mouth and nose protection
-
rumors
like this have been wafting through
social media
for weeks

The
truth content: equal to zero
.
Nevertheless, similar stories continue to be spread, especially by corona skeptics - now also in Tölzer Land.
Tobias Schmid, spokesman for the organization
“lateral thinking 8041”
, which regularly
calls
for demos against the
corona
policy
, informed the Tölzer Kurier that he had received the information “from different sides” that there was “a
man
in a disabled workshop in the district
dropped dead
, the one with the
mask
had to work ”.
Corona in Bavaria: death by mask?
"We are not aware of any case"
In an anonymized email that Schmid forwarded to the editorial team, it is reported that the man fell over while
wearing a mask
and had
no pulse
.
All
attempts at
resuscitation
were unsuccessful until he was finally
declared
dead
in a clinic
.
The mail also reports that the employee who called the ambulance after the man's collapse got into trouble with his boss for his actions.
When asked, Schmid could not say which workshop for the disabled it was.
You can find all information on the current situation of the corona pandemic in the district here.
Facilities of this type are the Oberland workshops in Gaißach and Geretsried.
When asked by our newspaper, managing director Oliver Gosolits says: “No such case is known in any of the Oberland workshops.
In general, there has been no
recent
death
in
any of
our facilities.
Especially not because of the
mask requirement.

More and more false rumors about rescue operations
In theory, of course, it could have been a different facility.
The Integrated Control Center (ILS), which coordinates the rescue services, should in any case have to know about a corresponding operation.
Sohrab Taheri-Sohi, spokesman for the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), which is responsible for the ILS Oberland, explains that there has not been any use of this kind in a
disabled
facility in the entire rescue service area of the ILS Oberland in recent weeks
.
"It has happened again and again recently that such rumors have been spread," says Taheri-Sohi.
"We are
not aware of any case
in which there has been
suffocation from wearing a mask
."
