His special focus is on community development: Especially in these times, new communication spaces are needed for all parts of the population, "added value in the interior".

The increasingly noticeable "de-socialization" is a great danger, it needs meeting places in the place.

In Fraunberg, a “market hall of ideas” is to be built opposite the community center, with various usable rooms and a large, semi-underground parking lot.

The community recently bought a property behind the new administration building, the around 100-year-old Jagerhaus.

This former farm should be preserved in its cubature, but inside should create space for a variety of activities.

In the Reichenkirchen suburb, however, the newly designed village square between the church and the school is nearing completion; only the Salettl in the churchyard requires some fine-tuning.

According to Wiesmaier, twelve of the 15 building plots in the new Reichenkirchen-Ost building area have already been sold.

In addition, new housing construction funded by the community is to be built there - “we're thinking of nine affordable apartments”.

Ultimately, two other long-cherished wishes of the Fraunbergers will soon come true: Thanks to government funding, both the bike path from Tittenkofen to Langengeisling and that from Grucking to Unterstrogn (Bockhorn) should soon be able to be built.

With the new logo “municipal, regional, sustainable”, Fraunberg wants to show that it wants to preserve its identity.

According to Wiesmaier, it is important to “preserve the old and develop new”.

It is very important to him to emphasize regionality.

The local elections in March showed that the citizens are very committed.

"If at least 60 people volunteer as possible councilors, that's a good sign," said the town hall chief.

Overall, the community is very stable, also with regard to its financial situation (see also box).

“I am particularly satisfied with the constant administrative budget and business tax income at a solid level.

In 2019, we were able to invest a total of over 1.5 million euros, especially for our children's home, road construction and village renewal, and we were once again able to look forward to numerous funds, ”said Wiesmaier.

The expansion of broadband is also progressing rapidly, "now only 13 individual farmsteads have a supply below 30 megabits per second".

The community can also be particularly proud of its self-sufficient power generation with renewable energies: "Fraunhofer is completely self-sufficient, has a value of 223 percent".

Particular attention will be paid to so-called flash flood management.

"Here we have recommendations for each particularly affected part of the community, which we want to implement soon if the financial situation is right."

In addition, the community is facing climate change and is involved in the integrated concept of its neighboring communities Berglern, Langenpreising and Wartenberg.

"And of course we respond to concerns and requests from our citizens in this regard," explained Wiesmaier.

For example, Andreas Faltermaier from Kemoding has submitted an application to present the climate plans in the community; he sees the establishment of a climate council as necessary.

“We will continue to pursue our climate initiative,” says the mayor, referring to measures that have already been taken, such as charging stations for electromobility, and lower-energy lighting on streets and in halls.
