The Ebersberger Verein Abenteuerspielplatz is struggling with a number of problems.

That became clear in the Social Committee.

Ebersberg

- What do people actually not understand about the word “adventure playground”?

Again and again, garbage flies over the fence at this point in Ebersberg.

"Do the citizens dispose of their furniture there?" Asked Florian Brilmayer (CSU) in the Ebersberg Social Committee in disbelief.

Yoanne Wolff and Marion Winterstetter from the new board of the association reported that rubbish is not the only problem.

At the beginning of their engagement, they had to accept “negative feedback” of their own.

In the meantime, however, the facility has taken off again.

Care from Tuesday to Friday

"Neglected", no "fixed opening times" were the allegations.

The adventure playground in Ebersberg's care setting is an important component and also an open-air offer - not to be underestimated in Corona times.

There is now a childcare offer from Tuesday to Friday, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Special thematic offers are also being considered.

This year there have already been weekly events under the motto “Detectives” or “Where does our food come from?”.

"The new team wants to revive the adventure playground," reported the board.

The timing is not ideal.

After all, distance rules also apply outdoors, there are restrictions on the number of guests, the toilet had to be upgraded and a disinfectant dispenser had to be provided.

Toy exchange is not possible.

But since the action takes place in the open air and the children have completely different ideas in mind, this is all additional work, but ultimately not so dramatic: the activities consist of “building huts, handicrafts and, above all, muding”, that is with particularly popular with visitors.

Bauhof should help with maintenance

The volunteer supervisors, currently the hard core consists of three people, have problems looking after the large area.

Here the social committee showed helpfulness.

There is a lot of undergrowth and above all blackberries have spread, reported Winterstetter from thorns in his thumb.

Mayor Ulrich Proske (SPD) indicated that the building yard and city gardener could offer themselves as helpful partners - also for waste disposal, for which the team from the Adventure Playground Association is not asked to pay extra at the recycling center.

At this point in the discussion in the Social Committee at the latest, however, the question of financing was floating in the background.

The club has another problem.

Most of the 32 members are over 60 years old, some of them are still founding members, such as Hans Vollhardt and Walter Brilmayer, both former mayors of the city.

“There wasn't a lot of member acquisition,” reported the new board, who would not like to change the low fees.

"We always had children from the blackboard with us."

“What doesn't cost anything is worth nothing,” objected Martin Schedo (CSU).

"In the Corona times, the place gained in importance," said Schedo's parliamentary group colleague Marina Matjanovski.

A financial support from the city would therefore make sense, she said accordingly.

Marc Block (Greens) had a different suggestion: The board of directors could seek “sponsorships”.

In the discussion, however, Stefan Mühlfenzl (SPD) drew attention to the “admirable, voluntary commitment” of women.

“It's not a huge cost,” he said.

The adventure playground definitely finds a proponent in Mayor Ulrich Proske (SPD), who liked to munch along there as a child.

"This created friendships that still exist today." The financial help for the adventure playground is a voluntary contribution, but it makes sense.

The city is having no fun when right-wing extremist graffiti should disguise the adventure playground again.

Schedo, who works as a police officer in Ebersberg, encouraged the board to report such incidents "and promptly".
