Fürstenfeldbruck - Everyone agrees that an ice rink should be built.

But where and how, opinions differ.

While the SPD, ÖDP, BBV, Left and Free voters want to commit to one location for reasons of time - the previous ice rink - the CSU, Greens and FDP also want to have two locations on the air base checked further.

Now a compromise has been found that everyone can live with more or less well.

The proposal by Andreas Lohde (CSU) to examine an ice rink on Schöngeisinger Strasse primarily and the alternatives at the air base as a secondary consideration found a majority with 21:15 votes.

Because one did not want to say goodbye to this option.

“We want to have an alternative in our pockets,” said Lohde.

Most saw this prioritization as a viable option.

Jan Halbauer (Greens) found it disappointing that people were stuck with the location at all.

Club members would also see it that way.

"If I get a hall, it doesn't matter where."

Now, with this location, the city will submit an application for the funding program “Renovation of municipal facilities in the areas of sport, youth and culture”.

The feasibility study and further reports must be available by April.

It will be recorded that locations on Fursty and around the existing ice rink are also checked for safety.

The Greens brought the areas to the west and south of the stadium back into play.

A no longer used soccer field and the area of the stick shooters, who have disbanded, are further away from the residents, said Karin Geißler.

Christian Götz (BBV) recalled that the location south of the Amper had already been checked by the administration but was quickly rejected.

Probably for reasons of flood protection and the connection with the Amperoase, he said.

The SPD and ÖDP wanted to avoid in their amendment that the profitability audit and expert opinion for the air base are now also created.

The study clearly showed that Schöngeisinger Strasse was the best place, said Mirko Pötzsch (SPD).

And one cannot generally assume that the air base can be operated longer than 10 p.m., added Philipp Heimerl.

Alexa Zierl (ÖDP) named the costs as a “killer criterion” for Fursty: Because the property on Schöngeisinger Strasse already belongs to the city.

But the parliamentary groups could not prevail with their request.

Markus Droth (FW) advised taking Stadtwerke as a daughter on board.

A working group, brought into play by the Greens, with town hall employees, speakers and the ice skating clubs should also be formed and discuss further details about financing, the operating concept and other things.

The matter with the residents, who complain against the location and the current operation in the ice rink, must be clarified, said financial officer Klaus Wollenberg (FDP).

There is no great fear in the city council.

"The likelihood that the plaintiffs will get through is marginal," suspects Andreas Rothenberger.

That leaves the sword of Damocles of costs, since the ice rink is a voluntary service.

In relation to the currently estimated 18.6 million euros, Wollenberg said: "Where there's a will, there's a way."
