Shira Isakov, who was fatally wounded by her husband's stab wounds in Mitzpe Ramon on New Year's Eve, was released from Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva, the hospital said this evening (Thursday).

Iscove was evacuated in critical condition to the trauma room at Mitzpe Ramon Hospital on the eve of the holiday, suffering from multiple systemic injuries and stab wounds to various parts of her body.



Ahead of her release from the hospital, Shira said that "I am entering a new life."

She added that "I have a long way to go until I finish the whole medical process but I am with my face forward, optimistic and stronger than ever".

She thanked the hospital's medical staff, noting that they "treated me with professionalism, dedication and humanity."

She was released from the hospital.

The hospital said that after stabilizing her condition on New Year's Eve in the trauma room, she was rushed to the operating room, where she was operated on for long hours.

At the end of the lengthy surgery she was transferred to a general intensive care unit.

During the hospitalization, she underwent a series of surgeries and was treated by a multi-professional team that includes: general surgeons, heart and chest surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons, eyes and anesthetists.

After recovery in the general intensive care unit she was transferred to the surgical ward and later began a rehabilitation procedure in the hospital’s rehabilitation ward, during which she was treated by ward staff.

Today she was released from the hospital after about a month and a half of hospitalization, for further rehabilitation close to her parents' home, out of a desire and need to be close to her son and on the recommendation of professionals.

The doctors and staff who treated her said goodbye to her, strengthened her and wished her success in her future endeavors.
