Palestinian prisoner Maher Al-Akhras continues his open-ended hunger strike for the 95th consecutive day in light of the Israeli occupation’s refusal to release him or transfer him to a Palestinian hospital despite the serious deterioration in his health.

The prisoner's club explained to Wafa that the health condition of the mute prisoner is very dangerous and that he suffers from severe fatigue and stress and pain in his heart in addition to physical pain and his sense of smell and taste is affected and there is fear that his vital organs will suffer a sudden setback, which constitutes a real danger that threatens his life and worsens every moment as a result of continuing The occupation authorities blatantly violate international human rights law and refuse to release him.

The Prisoner's Club called on the international community and international human rights and humanitarian institutions to put pressure on the occupation authorities to stop their violations of the right of the prisoners and to quickly release the mute prisoner and save his life.

The occupation forces arrested the al-Akhras prisoner on the 27th of last July, and he was previously arrested several times, first in 1989 for a period of 7 months and the second in 2004 for two years, then he was re-arrested for the third time in 2009 for a period of 16 months and for the fourth time in 2018 for a period of 11 months.
