It is reported that the prosecution raised the control based on the content posted on the Facebook page of Zhong's involvement in the Hong Kong and American branches of the Student Action Source and the Creation Independence Party, which alleged that the post indicated that the promotion of Hong Kong independence and contained seditious sentences, and that Zhong You was responsible. The administrators of these pages have also posted relevant content. These pages also have crowdfunding accounts. Zhizhong has handled two related accounts totaling more than 690,000 yuan.

The defendant Zhong Hanlin (19 years old), he was the former convener of Student Dongyuan, which had been dissolved at the end of June this year.

Zhong was charged with one count of secession, one count of conspiracy to publish seditious publications, and two counts of dealing with property known or believed to represent benefits from indictable crimes.

Among them, the "crime of secession" is prosecuted under Article 20 of the "Hong Kong National Security Law", and the remaining charges are prosecuted under the "Criminal Offences Ordinance".

Zhong released a Paypal link in early 2018 to appeal for donations.

As of July 29 this year, the page has several administrators and editors, with Zhong Youfen as the administrator.

The prosecution stated that the posts published on this page between November 2018 and June this year contained seditious sentences. There were 9 related posts, 8 of which were posted by Zhong. Zhizhong opened the FB page of the US branch

As for the crime of secession, it also involves the American branch of Student Mobility and the Facebook page of the Founding Independence Party.

The control plan said that at the end of June this year, Zhong announced the dissolution of the Hong Kong branch on the student activity page, but said that he would establish an overseas branch to promote Hong Kong's independence.

The following month, Zhong opened a special page for the American branch of Student Dongyuan and set the image with the words "Hong Kong Independence National Self Determination" as the profile picture.

The account published multiple posts in July this year, which indicated that it would promote Hong Kong independence with the Founding Independence Party.

The user later became the administrator who created the independent party page and issued a declaration of independence on the party page.

The above posts contain the volunteer registration form and Paypal remittance link, and the form states that volunteers must declare their full support for Hong Kong independence.

After Zhong's arrest, the webpage continues to have new posts

On the 29th of the same month, the police arrested Zhong for Hong Kong independence.

The prosecution said that after Zhong was released on bail from the police station, the student-source Hong Kong branch and another newly established US branch continued to post posts saying that members of the overseas branch would continue to promote Hong Kong independence; related posts mentioned "Hong Kong independence This is the only way for the Hong Kong nation to regain the right to democracy and self-determination.” The US branch sent an open letter to US congressmen on Hong Kong independence and initiated the White House joint signature.

The prosecution believed that the posts echoed what Zhong had posted on the special page of the Hong Kong branch earlier on June 30.

In addition, Zhong's bank account was alleged to be related to the Paypal link in the post on the page.

According to the prosecution plan, the Paypal account and bank account received about 130,000 yuan and about 560,000 respectively during the time period related to the crime; Zhong was a full-time student of the Vocational Training Council at that time, and his account status was different from his financial status and student status. Proportionate.

The case was postponed until January 7 next year. Zhong applied for bail but was refused.
