The African Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced today that the total number of coronavirus infections in Africa has reached 1759794 cases, as the continent prepares for a possible second wave of infections.
In a statement carried by Xinhua News Agency, the center stated that the deaths due to infection with the virus have reached 42,336 cases, while the total number of recoveries on the continent has reached 14,38841 cases so far.
South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Ethiopia and Nigeria are the countries most affected by the virus in terms of the number of infections.
