The costs are complicated - Planegg is an exception.

Würmtal

- The good news: There are plenty of grave sites available in the Würmtal.

However, keeping track of the cost of a funeral is a complicated matter.

Planegg works with a basic fee.

In the other municipalities, a calculator is advisable.

The differences between the municipalities of the Würmtal are not only in the density of the tariff jungle, but also in the amount of the fees.

The costs for a grave are clearly regulated.

A single grave for an adult is particularly cheap in the Gräfelfing community.

420 to 540 euros are due there - depending on the berth - for ten years, in Planegg it is 442 to 620 euros, in Krailling 502 to 646 euros and in Gauting 525 euros.

It is more expensive in Neuried than in the neighboring communities.

In the old cemetery, where three of 75 graves are still free in the communal part, the final resting place costs 639.50 euros.

The new cemetery costs 712 euros - and there is still plenty of space there.

If you paint, you can save

As far as the costs of the funeral are concerned, the relatives of a deceased in the Würmtal don't have it that easy.

"The costs are always made up of different items," explains Petra Hierl-Schmitz, head of the Graefelfingen regulatory and social administration.

Grave opening and closing, laying out for the funeral service in the funeral hall, use of the funeral hall or morgue, provision of porters, fees for the use of a tomb, all this and much more costs extra in most communities.

By removing individual items, relatives can save something.

"If no funeral service is desired in the mourning hall at the funeral, then 150 euros will be deducted from the total costs," explains the spokeswoman for the Gauting community, Charlotte Rieboldt.

The total costs in Gauting are around 900 euros.

Instead of individual items, Planegg offers a flat rate: 978.40 euros are due for opening and closing the grave, the use of the morgue, laying out, green decorations, steward and other services such as wreaths, according to the community's statutes.

But even there individual fees can be added, for example if the morgue is to be used for longer than 24 hours, explains the spokeswoman for the community Martina Sohn.

Overall, the Planegger flat rate is comparable to the costs of the neighboring municipalities.

This is not only shown by the example from Gauting.

A funeral also costs around 900 euros in Krailling, and around 800 euros in Graefelfing.

Only Neuried is a lot cheaper than his neighbors when it comes to the funeral.

Around 700 euros have to be paid there - and again the Neurieder can save a little by having a funeral in the old cemetery.

Why?

"Because this was determined in a fee calculation with subsequent resolution on the cemetery fee statute of January 1, 2014," explains the spokeswoman for the community Inke Franzen.

The municipalities therefore have their reasons for the fees they set.

As a rule, they do not have to explain this to the relatives of a deceased person.

“The undertaker does everything with them,” explains Alexandra Maiblüh, who is responsible for the cemetery administration in Krailling.
