Residents of localities across the country reported power outages last night (Friday), which was caused by a technical malfunction.

Among other things, there were reports from Beer Sheva, Ashkelon, Netanya, Rishon Lezion, Raanana, Ashdod, Holon, Haifa, Petah Tikva, Hod Hasharon, Shoham, Pardes Hanna and Oranit.

According to residents, the disruptions lasted between a quarter of an hour and half an hour.

According to the IEC, the cause of the outages was a malfunction in production units.

As a result, load shedding occurred - short power outages, between ten minutes and a quarter of an hour, which are performed automatically in order to stabilize the system according to a predetermined plan, and prevent a total breakdown.

Initially, the company updated on the malfunction in its Twitter account and wrote that "the electricity is gradually being returned to all customers".

She then added that "due to a malfunction in the production units, power supply disruptions are now being felt in some areas. Within about 15 minutes, the system will stabilize and the supply will be restored. Sorry."

Last month, another power outage occurred across the country.

An announcement issued by the IEC on Twitter claimed that the average time to deal with faults is three hours, but many residents spent the night staying in the dark and without regular supplies, at the height of a heat wave that prevailed across the country.

The company then explained that the source of the malfunctions was the extreme weather and heat.
