The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the US piracy in the Caribbean Sea on oil shipments destined for Venezuela.

Fars News Agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh as saying in a tweet that Pirates of the Caribbean are openly proud of what they plunder, but no civilized person is proud of the theft.

In response to a recent statement issued by the US Department of Justice against Iran, Khatibzadeh said: “As we said before ... this shipment of oil does not belong to us, but in any case, a shipment of oil from another party has definitely been stolen,” adding: “The rebellious United States regime has Contrary to his claims ... his pressure tools are becoming more and more limited every day.

The United States announced yesterday that it has earned more than forty million dollars from "reselling Iranian oil" that was "seized", as it claimed, from four tankers heading to Venezuela.

And Washington claimed last August that it had seized 1.1 million barrels of crude oil that was to be sold to Venezuela, but Tehran denied at the time its ownership of the cargo ships that were intercepted and made it clear that it had nothing to do with these shipments.
