The number of people hospitalized with the Coronavirus has risen to a record level in at least 14 European countries this week, according to official data compiled and analyzed by Agence France-Presse.
The agency noted that among the countries that have reached an unprecedented peak in terms of the number of injured people hospitalized in recent days, Poland, which recorded 14,631 injured, the Czech Republic 6604 injured, Belgium, 5924 injured, followed by Hungary, Bulgaria, Portugal and Austria, according to the latest available reports.
As for the number of the population, the Czechs are the most affected, with 62 cases per 100,000 people, ahead of Romania with 57 injured, Belgium 51 and Poland 39.
France tops the total number of injured people in hospitals, with 21,160 injured, followed by Spain with 17,520 injured, then Ukraine and Italy.
The trend of injuries is escalating throughout Europe, with more than 135,000 injured patients currently being treated in 35 countries studied, compared to less than a hundred thousand a week ago.
