House ban for Angela Merkel and Olaf Scholz: As a reaction to the decreed closure of all restaurants from this Monday, the legendary Berlin political pub "Stistentvertretung" (StäV) does not want to serve Kölsch to the Chancellor, the Finance Minister and other top politicians.

The renewed forced closure is a disaster for the catering industry, said managing director Jörn Peter Brinkmann of the news agency dpa.

He accused the federal government of being active instead of deliberate action in its Corona policy.

First the "BZ" reported about the unusual lockout.

Pub had already been remodeled

In a video on Facebook, Brinkmann and his partner Jan Philipp Bubinger explained that politicians have not used the time since April to prepare the country for a second corona wave.

The "StäV", for example, have taken extensive precautions to protect their guests.

According to "BZ", the restaurateurs got themselves a pellet heater for the outside area and installed an air filter system.

A closure of the restaurants is incomprehensible, the landlords announced.

Brinkmann called on his colleagues in the catering industry to join the house ban against politicians.

Michael Müller and Markus Söder also affected

The spell of the "StäV" also affects Berlin's Governing Mayor Michal Müller and Health Senator Dilek Kalyci (both SPD) as well as Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU).

Merkel and Scholz had already been in the "StäV", he did not know exactly about Söder, said Brinkmann.

The "StäV" with its Rhineland flair next to the Friedrichstrasse train station was founded in 1997 by two Bonn innkeepers in Berlin - initially mainly for people moving from ministries and ministers to Berlin.

Brinkmann and Bubinger took over the restaurant three years ago.
