European countries are gathering their capabilities, announcing new strict measures to contain the second wave of the emerging corona virus, which appears to be stronger than the first wave in terms of the numbers of deaths and infections.

According to press information today, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce, during a press conference the day after tomorrow, of re-closing in England, from Wednesday until December 1, when non-essential stores will be closed, but nurseries, schools and universities will remain open.

Britain, which imposed a complete closure on the 23rd of last March when the first wave of the epidemic spread, is the country most affected by the epidemic in Europe, with more than 46,000 deaths.

Britain was preceded by several European countries, as a complete lockdown was re-imposed in France, where the number of deaths exceeded 36 thousand since the beginning of the epidemic for the second time.

But this lockdown will not be the same as the strict quarantine imposed in France in the spring for two months during the first wave that killed 30,000 people.

Kindergartens, schools, institutes and secondary schools will remain open with enhanced health measures that will allow many parents to continue their work, but non-essential businesses, as well as theaters and ballrooms, will be closed.

Belgium, which is witnessing the most intense spread of the virus among European countries, for its part, announced a more stringent closure, referring to last-chance measures to try to limit the spread of the epidemic.

Measures for at least a month and a half include closing unnecessary stores and imposing remote work when possible for companies, while cafes, restaurants, cultural institutions and sports clubs have already closed their doors.

Other European countries are continuing to take drastic measures, respectively, to confront a second deadly wave, as Spain closed five regions, including the Madrid region, yesterday.

Hundreds of people considered these measures to be very strict and demonstrated in Barcelona and clashes took place with the police.

Movement in Germany will also slow down in November, with bars, restaurants, cultural and entertainment facilities closed from Monday to December, and tourists will be banned from staying in hotels.

And Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the imposition of a partial quarantine in the country, starting from Tuesday, to address the second wave of the Covid 19 epidemic, including a night curfew and the closure of bars and restaurants in Athens and other cities.

Today, Slovakia launched a program to conduct diagnostic tests for infection with Covid 19 for all its citizens in a global precedent, where about 45 thousand workers in the field of health, army and police will participate in conducting the tests in this member of the European Union of 5.4 million people to collect samples in about five thousand sites .

In the Czech Republic, the Czech Parliament voted to extend the state of health emergency until the 20th of November.

Also outside Europe, the Canadian authorities announced the extension of the closure of their borders to foreigners whose presence is not considered necessary until November in an attempt to limit the spread of the epidemic in the country.

All these measures come as warnings continue to be made about the danger of leniency in the face of the spread of the Corona epidemic, as the World Health Organization's Emergency Committee announced that the Corona virus epidemic remains an emergency on an international scale, calling on state governments to take measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

In the statement issued at its fifth meeting, the committee also called on governments to plan actions on vaccines, avoid politicizing the epidemic, and maintain basic health care services.

The epidemic does not seem to be heading towards a receding currently, while vigorous international efforts to find an effective vaccine continue to confront it, as many laboratories and institutions around the world race for time to reach this vaccine while the whole world awaits the results.
