Today Italy set a new record for the number of infections with the Coronavirus.
Reuters quoted the Italian Ministry of Health as saying in a statement today that the country recorded 31,758 new cases of the virus during the past 24 hours, the highest daily death toll since the start of the epidemic, pointing out that this number is more than the number recorded yesterday, which is 31084 cases.
The ministry added that 297 new deaths were recorded due to the virus, compared to 199 cases yesterday.
In recent weeks, Italy has been facing unprecedented increases in the number of daily infections with the Coronavirus, although the death index is still limited.
