The Authority for Disasters and Emergencies in Turkey has updated that a total of 196 successive earthquakes have been documented, 23 of them with a magnitude higher than 4.0.
The Minister of Environment and Urbanization announced that the rescue and rescue operations are continuing in 17 buildings, four of which collapsed.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said five of the wounded are currently undergoing surgery and eight in intensive care.
The quake records in the news networks show rivers of water flooding the streets of the cities of Sesame and Safrihsar and large parts of the wider Izmir province, as well as the Greek island of Samos, in what officials described as a "mini-tsunami".
However, no warnings of a true tsunami were issued.
