Under the title “Youth, the spirit of victory, a delegation… arms of work and construction,” the works of the Tenth General Conference of the Revolutionary Youth Union began today in the Sahara Complex in Damascus countryside.
The three-day conference will discuss the reports submitted by the Federation's branches and associations in the intellectual, political, and organizational fields, the management of financial resources and establishments, in addition to issues related to educational and sports activities, volunteer work, the environment, technical and cultural activities, media and informatics.
In his speech during the opening of the conference, the head of the Revolutionary Youth Union Organization, Maan Abboud, affirmed the organization's keenness to go with a more open mind and interaction with youth based on its vision of the delicate stage that Syria is going through and its implications at all levels, indicating that it sought to develop its work programs and invent new methods and formulas more attractive to meet The aspirations and aspirations of Syrian men and women who constitute the most interested group in the field of thought, science, work and creativity, and the most present and widespread in national life.
Abboud indicated that the conference will address issues of concern to young people during the coming stage, the most prominent proposals and new ideas that touch their concerns and problems, as well as mechanisms for developing the organization's work and its internal system by amending some of its articles or adding new articles.
In statements to the media, Basil Hassan from the Voluntary Work and Environment Committee drew attention to the importance of encouraging youth to join volunteer work and establish a culture of joint teamwork to contribute to addressing the conditions in the country, stressing the youth's readiness and drive to reforest all areas affected by fires.
Bushra Alyan from the Media and Informatics Committee saw that the conference is an opportunity for them, as informed and open youth, to express their ambitions and aspirations, indicating the importance of the role of the national media in facing the misleading media war targeting Syria and the need to educate young people about this issue in order to enable them to confront this war and refute rumors and fabricated news.
For her part, Rola Ibrahim from the Technical and Cultural Activities Committee pointed out that the Syrian youth, despite the terrorist war that has targeted their country for years and the devastation caused by the yearning for art, culture and life, pointed out that provisions will be proposed to support the families of the martyrs and the wounded through the formation of special teams for them with singing, theater and training centers for them.
From the Committee on Artistic and Cultural Activities, Muhammad Hamdan pointed to the importance of developing artistic work in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, whether in school theater or establishing special artistic centers to train youth and develop cultural work by supporting cultural seminars and producing the idea of dialogue during these seminars to be a dialogue.
The conference includes sessions during which a new central council will be elected for the federation, and dialogue workshops for the members of the conference, who have been distributed into seven committees to discuss the issues raised and the reports submitted by the union’s branches and associations.
