In the governorate of Lattakia, under the title “Our environment is our safety ... our forests are our responsibility,” today the Ugarit archaeological site in Ras Shamra was cleaned and packed in cooperation between the directorates of Environment and Agriculture and the Department of Antiquities, in addition to rehabilitating and maintaining the park of the ninth project, “Martyr Sumer Mahmoud” in the city of Lattakia, and planting ornamental plants in it.

During his participation in the cultivation of ornamental plants in the ninth project garden and his acquaintance with the cleaning work of the Ras Shamra archaeological site, the Governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem confirmed in a statement to SANA that the activities that are held on the occasion of the National Environment Day are carried out in partnership with all the public sector and the local community to raise awareness about the importance of hygiene, environment and preservation on her.

The director of the environment in the governorate, Dr. Lama Ahmed, indicated that the directorate worked to organize a group of activities and lasted for a week, while the director of the Lattakia Department of Antiquities Ibrahim Khair Bey indicated that the interest in antiquities within the activities and activities of the National Environment Day reflects the extent of the desire of everyone, from government activities and a local community, to protect and preserve archaeological sites. on her.

Latakia governorate honored a group of cleaners and gardeners, in addition to a number of firefighters from the Lattakia regiment, who participated in putting out the fires.

In the governorate of Homs, the Environment Directorate in Homs continued for the second day celebrating the National Day for the Environment and implemented an event that included an environmental march, a cleaning campaign, afforestation and honoring a number of cleaning workers in the town of Ein Al-Nisr in Homs.

Engineer Talal Al-Ali, Director of Environment in Homs, confirmed in a statement to SANA that a plan has been drawn up with various concerned authorities to implement a number of environmental activities, including cleaning campaigns, afforestation, cleaning and removal of some water sites, in addition to holding seminars and awareness workshops.

In turn, the engineer, Hanan Nofouj, said: We have lived with the townspeople, old and young, a beautiful environmental day by participating with us in the cleaning, landscaping, and marching work as well. A number of townspeople expressed their happiness at the event in which they participated.

In addition, the Environment Development Corporation in Homs, in cooperation with the Social Affairs and Labor Directorate, carried out a campaign of planting fruit trees in the Homs Environmental Park project behind the Water Resources Directorate building.

Paul Kassis, head of the Environmental Development Foundation in Homs, explained that the environmental park project in Homs was established in 2006 and is currently being rehabilitated after a halt for years due to terrorism. .

A number of young participants, including Ibrahim Taqtak, Raneem Nassif and Hala Farah, expressed their satisfaction and pride in the neighborhoods of the ecological park and the planting of fruit trees on the National Environment Day.

The deputy head of the executive office in the governorate, Hussein Ishaq, said in a statement to SANA that the event aims to spread awareness among the community and the local community about the importance of the environment, reducing pollution and preserving its resources.

Deir Ezzor Governorate launched a comprehensive cleaning campaign implemented by the City Council and the Directorate of Agriculture, with the participation of a number of local community activities, which will last for two days to reach the largest number of streets and neighborhoods in the city.

The head of Deir Ezzor City Council, Eng. Raed Mandeel, in a statement to SANA's correspondent, indicated to the provision of all campaign requirements in order to transfer garbage from the streets and neighborhoods of the city and conduct cleaning and rehabilitation operations for the central islands, pointing to the marked improvement in the situation of cleanliness as a result of the cooperation of all parties and the implementation of repeated cleaning campaigns and the intensification of the daily working hours of the workshops Cleanliness by city council.

In turn, the Head of the Services and Maintenance Department of Deir Ezzor City Council, Engineer Basil Sabaa Al-Deir, explained that the campaign includes works to remove trees in the central islands and paint their sidewalks and sidewalks, in addition to a cleaning campaign that includes collecting waste and garbage and transferring it to dumpsites designated by the City Council.

The director of Deir Al-Zour Agriculture, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Hayy, stated that the Directorate is participating in the campaign through a number of mechanisms and workers.

A number of workers in the campaign confirmed that they are doing their duty by performing their work to keep their city clean. A number of residents praised this campaign, expressing their hope for an improvement in the hygiene situation in Deir Ezzor.
