The Water Resources Directorate in Homs has begun maintenance work on water installations and removal of sewers that have bottlenecks, as part of the preparations for the winter season.
In a statement to SANA, the Director of Water Resources in Homs, Eng. Ismail Ismail, indicated that maintenance work is underway for water installations and the removal of waterways in which there are bottlenecks, as work is being carried out to remove the Zafarana dam in addition to uncovering the voids of dams and basins so that the necessary maintenance can be carried out.
Ismail confirmed that the Directorate of Resources in Homs is also continuing with the work of isolating rivers such as the Asi River and Rawel River, according to the available capabilities, indicating that the storage facilities are currently at their lowest levels at the end of the season.
It is noteworthy that, by the end of the last season, the storage in the Qattinah Dam Lake reached 171 million cubic meters out of the maximum storage amounting to 200 million before the irrigation water was released from the dam through the main channel.
