Diego Maradona, the former Argentine football idol, was admitted Monday (November 2) to a private clinic in La Plata, south of Buenos Aires, for medical examinations, local press reported.
According to several Argentinian media, this hospitalization has no link with the coronavirus pandemic or his physical condition, but rather with his psychological state.

Currently technical director of the local club (Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata), Maradona had insisted on Friday to lead the training of his players, the day of his 60th birthday, but did not seem in shape and walked with difficulty. He only stayed a few minutes on the pitch before retiring with the help of his assistants. Some of his relatives recently presented symptoms comparable to those of Covid-19, but their tests came back negative.
