The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed this Tuesday in a press conference that the Attorney General's Office (FGR) presented a request to the Judiciary to obtain an arrest warrant against the former foreign minister and former secretary of Treasury, Luis Videgaray, one of the highest officials of the previous government.
López Obrador said that he was informed about the request and that it was rejected by a judge who considered that it was not well integrated.
The president added that he does not know if the rejection was definitive or if the request was requested to be completed.
López Obrador did not elaborate on the possible charges surrounding the matter.
“The Prosecutor's Office asks the judge to authorize himself to issue an arrest warrant, and the judge returns the file.
That's true, it's the only thing I know, ”he said in his morning lecture.

CNN sought confirmation on this report from the Mexican Prosecutor's Office, but so far has not received comment.
CNN asked Videgaray for a reaction, without getting a response.
Last August, Videgaray said that he would be available to the Mexican authorities for any clarification due to allegations made by the former director of Pemex Emilio Lozoya, who faces criminal proceedings for alleged money laundering and bribery in a case allegedly related to the Odebrecht company, in which Lozoya has pleaded not guilty and has offered his collaboration to the authorities.
