It was held for 2024

Aside from the dramatic presidential election and the formidable struggle for control of Congress, the U.S. election brought us, as a campaign uniform, some pretty colorful stories as well.

At the head of a collection of important laws passed is probably the approval of the new minimum wage in Florida.

Residents in the southern United States have decided to approve a proposal to raise the minimum wage to $ 15 per hour. The wage will increase gradually in the coming years and reach a target of $ 15 by 2026, and Florida has become the eighth state in the U.S. to pass legislation in this spirit.

In California, in the west, the various transportation services - led by Uber and Lift - were the focus of the polls.

The residents of the state were surprised when they actually sided with the position of the corporations, and determined that the companies could not provide their employees with social conditions and continue to treat them as contractor employees.

The vote becomes a recently approved law designed to advance the status of drivers as employees.

Magnolia instead of confederation

In Colorado, as well as in the West, a decision was made to please animal lovers, when state residents decided to lift a ban on raising pit bull dogs.

On the East Coast, in Maryland, residents have decided it's time to legalize gambling in the state.

Under the new law, the gambling industry will pay a 20 percent tax on its profits, most of which will go to fund the education system.

In Mississippi in the central U.S. a decision has been made to replace the state flag. The old flag, which includes the stars from the controversial Confederate emblem, will be replaced with a flag adorned with white magnolia, the official flower of the state.

Taking off for the Senate

Beyond the laws, quite a few interesting candidates were up for selection in the various congressional races.

For example, in Arizona, Mark Kelly, a former astronaut and member of the Democratic Party, won the state Senate seat after defeating incumbent Republican senator Martha McSally.

Kelly, who rose to prominence as a NASA space shuttle pilot, made headlines after his wife, former congresswoman Gabi Giffords, was shot in the head.

Following the shooting, Kelly became a key activist in the U.S. arms expansion movement, running for the Senate as a moderate Democrat who fought McSally, who was appointed in place of the late Senator John McCain and became an ally of President Trump. Traditionally, Kelly has managed to win a majority, and for the first time since the 1950s Arizona will send two Democratic representatives to the Senate.

The chosen dead

In the state of North Dakota, one of the campaign's most extraordinary stories took place.

David Andahl, a Republican candidate, won the state congressional seat, a fairly standard matter in a traditional conservative state.

But Andhal died in early October after falling ill in Corona, which did not stop him from winning yesterday's election.

Andhal, 55 at the time of his death, was engaged in cow breeding and land development, and spent 16 years on local planning committees.

He defeated veteran Republican Congressman Jeff Delzer in the primaries, and ran as an ardent supporter of President Trump.

When Corona arrived in North Dakota, Andhal, with a background illness, said he was "very careful."

But when the epidemic spread in the country, he contracted the disease, and after four days of hospitalization, died on October 5.

His name remains on the ballot as a candidate for Congress, and now with his official win it seems that the Republicans in the country will appoint a replacement for him, unless a special election is decided.

The rapper does not raise his hands

Of course, it's hard to sum up the special stories of the 2020 campaign without referring to rapper Kenya West's presidential candidacy.

The legendary singer and producer, who apparently suffers from mental problems, announced a few months ago that he is joining the race for the White House.

Unfortunately, the candidacy that was hopeless in advance did not surprise in the test of the result.

Last night, West admitted his defeat on Twitter - but has already hinted that this will not deter him from running again.

The rapper has already prepared for the "Kenya 2024" campaign.
