The Democratic nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden, spoke from Wilmington, Delaware, while following the counting of votes in a few key states, primarily absentee votes and vote-by-mail.
Biden said he was not "singing victory", but that "there should be no doubts" and also highlighted his victory "in enough states" to secure 270 electoral college votes.
Biden highlighted as "a great achievement" that his formula campaign with Kamala Harris would be the fourth in US history to defeat a sitting president in the election.
