Within the activities of the second day of the “Turabak Dhahab” festival, held in the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Hasakah, the “Ornasha” groups for lyrical heritage and “Nabada” for folklore and folk dance presented collective and individual singing performances and folkloric networks from the heritage of the Syrian island.

The artists of the “Ornasha” group participated in a group of patriotic songs and others from the Syrian-Syriac and Mirdali heritage, while the Nabada troupe presented dabkat and folkloric dances inspired by the heritage of Hasakah Governorate and reflects the beauty of its social diversity.

Festival director Ismail Khalaf said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the activities of the second day and the diversity it contained in the artistic heritage of the Syrian island, which is part of the cultural heritage of the Syrian people, confirms the depth of our civilizational identity and that preserving this heritage is a goal for everyone who works in the cultural, heritage and artistic side.

Responsible for the Syriac Heritage Revival Committee in Al-Hasakah, Silva Al-Asya explained that the participation of the two groups in singing and folkloric dances is based on the idea on which the festival is based, which is that the soil of the homeland, its people and its heritage is the most valuable thing we have and work to transfer this heritage in all honesty to future generations and introduce them to its cultural dimension extending for thousands of years It is a source of pride for every Syrian.

The festival’s activities will be completed tomorrow with a morning session entitled “Harmony of the Word and the Feather” that includes readings by the writer Ibrahim Khalaf and improvisation, the first by artist Ahmed Al-Hammour, and the second by a musician by artist Yahya Abdul-Jabbar.
