Donald Trump boasted in the election campaign about moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing sovereignty in the Golan Heights, the peace agreements that helped establish Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Bahrain - and at least five other countries on the way (according to the US administration).

Trump is also planning sovereignty for us, but to realize that he had to be elected for another four years.

This is why as an Israeli you can be worried about the results in the meantime, or at least think about what could have been done together in another term.

That does not mean that Joe Biden is anti-Israel, not at all.

But a pro-Israel president like Trump, one who has made his support for Israel such an essential and prominent component of his legacy, has never been in the White House.

Even if President Trump does not win at the end of the road, the legacy he built in his first term is guaranteed.

Republicans will take care to preserve his achievements;

America will want to keep the assets it has acquired for it.

Some of these assets are also valuable and important to the State of Israel.

A blue wave has not swept America, and the "Trumpism" that commentators like to label as some historical mishap has not been thrown out of America's political culture.

Polls predicted a historic drift in favor of Biden, meaning a sweeping and clear popular statement against Trump.

This Land Slide did not happen.

And as Gilad Zwick writes today in his column in the opinion section, the polls are not just "wrong."

In key countries, polls have consistently misrepresented a clear advantage and victory for Biden, thus making, perhaps, many Trump supporters feel that there is no point in going to the polls.

But it's not over until it's over, and as these lines are being written - Biden has not yet won, Trump has not yet lost, and he is determined to fight, with the flowing truth results indicating not very large gaps, to say the least.

Surprisingly, quite a few Israeli commentators raised an eyebrow, wondering about Trump's intention - as long as he had one - to petition the courts.

Interestingly, when in Israel petitions were submitted to the court in the expectation that the judges would intervene after the election, it was presented as a legitimate and perhaps even necessary, if not critical, step to save Israeli democracy.

And until the final results (or court decision), we will take the time to internalize the fact that we have witnessed the most dramatic U.S. election in which President Trump faced a commissioner who played a mediocre role in U.S. political film.

If he becomes the 46th president, his supporters will also admit that it's not because he's Joe Biden.

This is because half of America has mobilized with unprecedented intensity against Trump, in part in light of the negative image attached to him by the establishment and the media.

This is despite the fact that the masses of voters actually expressed support for his economic conduct alongside a grave fear of the nation's deposit - even in matters of the plague - in the hands of Biden.

Even if Trump does not win at the end of the road, his legacy is guaranteed.

Republicans will take care to preserve his achievements;

America will want to keep the assets it has acquired for it.

Some of these assets are also expensive and important to Israel
