US election: Why the numbers, graphics and reports on results sometimes seem contradictory

2020-11-04T22:11:46.574Z

The reports and the figures in the graphics on Spiegel.de do not always match. Here we explain why that is.

Different US media use different models for their call decisions.

As a result, one broadcaster may already consider the race in one state to be decided and

evaluate

it as a

called

while another is still waiting.

On the basis of the call decision, the candidates are also assigned the electorate of the respective state.

At Spiegel.de we keep you up to date on all decisions of the serious media.

In the live updated maps and graphics on Spiegel.de, we refer to the data from the US news agency AP.
