For months, relying on polls announcing gigantic gaps between the two candidates, figures which turned out to be very far from reality, they predicted that
"a blue wave"
was going to submerge the country and show that the dreadful Donald Trump was just an accident in history, both moral and political.
Once this devil was removed, we would return to normal.
But the formidable power of support that the turbulent billionaire continues to enjoy among the working classes, despite a pandemic that has claimed 220,000 lives and led to a spectacular economic collapse,
