Today, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection inaugurated the Zahra 1 bakery in Al Zahraa district in Homs to secure the needs of the neighborhood and surrounding areas of bread, with a production capacity of 8 tons per day with the possibility of increasing it to 13 tons.

This came during the tour of Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Talal Al-Barazi, which also included the bakery of Al-Walid suburb, Tishreen complex in the Jurat Al-Shayyah neighborhood, after its expansion and the opening of new sections in it and Ibn Al-Walid bakery on Hama Road.

Al-Barazi stated in a press statement that the opening of the Zahra 1 bakery with a production capacity of 8 tons per day will provide bread to some eastern regions in the city of Homs and its arrival in an easier and better quality, pointing to coordination with the governorate and the concerned authorities to control any smuggling of flour or bread, follow up on fuel prices, and commit to distributing the allocated quantities. .

Al-Barazi stressed the continuation of work to develop the reality of bakeries from the technical aspects and conduct maintenance operations to improve production and secure their needs of flour and yeast, pointing to the continuous follow-up of all bakeries to prevent cases of default and defects.

In turn, Ziad Hazaa, Director of the General Organization for Bakeries, indicated in a statement to SANA that the opening of the bakery today is within the first phase with a production capacity of up to eight tons, indicating that its maximum production capacity reaches 13 tons according to need.

Abdul Rahman Eid, the supervisor of Al Zahraa 1 bakery, noted that they carried out several experiments in the bakery until it was fully equipped and began to produce the ration bread and distribute the quantity of 8200 bags according to the need, indicating that it works in two shifts each shift that includes ten workers.

Fouad Al-Abdullah, director of the Tishreen complex in the Jouret Al-Shayah neighborhood, said that today, new sections were opened within the complex, including vegetables, fruits, meat, cheese and dairy at reasonable prices.

During a meeting in the governorate building, Al-Barazi discussed with the supply family in Homs the reality of bakeries and mills and the availability of necessary materials and commodities in the Syrian trade halls.

Discussions focused on the need to provide operating and production lines in bakeries and mills, and to provide the citizens' needs of good quality bread.

During the meeting, Al-Barazi pointed to the need to activate and mobilize the role of the local community, local councils, popular organizations and professional unions in promoting the culture of complaint and monitoring markets in terms of the quality and specifications of the available foodstuffs and commodities and their powers.

The governor of Homs, Bassam Mamdouh Barsik, and a number of stakeholders participated in the tour and meeting.
