The Eure Assize Court of Appeal followed the requisitions of the general prosecutor's office.

It thus confirmed the conviction of 30 years of imprisonment pronounced at first instance in July 2019 by the Seine-Maritime Assize Court against Mimoun Moumni.

The man, who has always denied the facts, "is

considering an appeal in cassation,

" said his lawyer Guillaume Routel.

However, he "did

not say a word from the beginning until the end of the hearing

", added his counsel who pleaded for acquittal.

The accused is convicted of the murder of Luis-Fernando Z., 53, found dead on the night of February 20 to 21, 2016 on the stairs of his building, a wound on the back of the skull.

Investigators believed at one point in an accidental fall, with the victim wearing very high heels.

But death by a small caliber bullet, undetected by the forensic scientist, was established a few days later, during the autopsy.

The man is also convicted of violence with a weapon, for having attacked another Peruvian transsexual prostitute with six stab wounds in May 2015.

The latter had subsequently crossed paths with her attacker and noted her license plate number which she communicated to the police during the investigation into the murder, explained Cécile Madeline, lawyer for the family of the deceased and the prostitute assaulted in 2015. For the lawyer, “

there was premeditation

”.

Mimoun Moumni, who "

claimed to be a traveling salesman

" by profession, was also sentenced to five years of socio-judicial monitoring and is prohibited from coming to Rouen for five years, said Madeline.
