The "strangler of Regensburg", as David was called, was born in November 1938 in
Breslau
.
During the turmoil of World War II, the then six-year-old with a name tag around his neck was discovered alone at the Hof train station.
He came to the home, the
Red Cross
looked for his
mother
and found her in 1948. The ten-year-old was happy, but his mother turned him away.

David had completed an apprenticeship as a painter.
In 1975, the now married father strangled two prostitutes in Munich within a few days.
It was over five years before the next murder.
By 1994 he killed
another five women
in
Regensburg

In almost all cases the general practitioners certified that the women died of
natural causes
.
Only in 1994 did the criminal investigation team track him down, in December 1995 David was sentenced to life imprisonment in Munich (see original report).
