The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed today the investment budget of the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment and its affiliated bodies, amounting to 142 billion and 60 million Syrian pounds.

In their interventions, the members of the committee called for an increase in the financial allocations for the ministry because its work is in direct contact with securing citizens' services and interferes with all ministries and supports administrative units with workers and mechanisms, rehabilitating the countryside of the provinces, improving the reality of internal transport and expanding its services to reach rural areas and securing street lighting through renewable energy, asking about the percentage Implementation of the real estate newspaper automation project.

Committee members indicated the importance of focusing on reconstruction projects and contributing to serving liberated areas to facilitate the return of their people, and increasing interest in environmental projects, especially in areas affected by fires, building agricultural roads and rehabilitating them.

In response to the interventions of the members of the committee, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, explained that the Reconstruction Committee is in contact with all concerned parties to restore and rehabilitate the infrastructure in all the areas liberated by the Syrian Arab Army and that there is no restriction on any administrative unit with regard to investment in it. .

Minister Makhlouf emphasized that the ministry is working to reduce the burden on the citizen by increasing the internal transport buses according to the needs of each governorate, and that environmental work “takes its right” in the ministry as it supervises and controls industrial facilities and provides studies in a way that improves the environmental reality and reduces pollution.

Minister Makhlouf indicated that the project of automating real estate interests and electronic archiving is in progress and is underway, and with regard to the reality of industrial cities, the ministry continues to support and develop it to increase the pace of production and secure more investment opportunities and work.
