So far, Donald Trump has not admitted his electoral defeat. On Twitter, he now writes for the first time that Joe Biden has won - supplemented by an unsubstantiated claim.

US President Donald Trump lost the election to Democrat Joe Biden.

So far, he has not admitted that.

Instead, the Republican portrays himself as the victim of extensive electoral fraud. On Twitter, he has now spoken of Biden’s election victory for the first time - but also repeated his allegations of fraud.

"He won because the election was rigged," Trump wrote in his post.

Twitter reacted immediately to the statement and issued a warning.

With his statement, Trump reacts to a tweet in which a presenter on TV channel Fox News wondered how Biden could be ahead if he had a weak election campaign.

He repeats his allegations, which have still not been substantiated, that no election observers were admitted and that the software used during the count falsified the results.

"I don't admit anything!"

A little later, Trump followed up and put his first statement into perspective.

"He only won in the eyes of fake media," the president wrote in another tweet with a view to Biden.

"I admit NOTHING! We still have a long way to go," said the tweet.

The election was manipulated.

This tweet was also provided with a warning.

Trump's attorneys are filing various lawsuits in several states.

It was not until Sunday night that he put the legal battle for the election results in the hands of his longtime lawyer and companion Rudy Giuliani.

According to calculations by the US media, Biden clearly won the election.

On Friday, the television stations CNN and ABC declared the former vice president the winner in the embattled southern state of Georgia.

With the 16 voters from Georgia, Biden now has 306 of the 538 voters nationwide, he needed 270 to win an election. Trump, who was proclaimed the winner in the equally contested North Carolina, has a total of 232 voters.

Biden's lead is considered sufficient to withstand recounts and a partial success of previous Trump lawsuits.

Thousands of Trump supporters protest against alleged election fraud

Regardless, thousands of Trump supporters took to the streets for a second term for the US president.

The demonstrators demanded "four more years" for Trump in the White House despite Biden's election victory on Saturday and denounced alleged electoral fraud.

Trump waved to fans from his presidential limo on the way to golf.

Trump's convoy passed Freedom Plaza on the way to his golf club outside the US capital, where at least 10,000 President's supporters from across the country had gathered.

Trump smiled and waved to the cheering demonstrators from inside the car.

On Friday evening he had promised to "drop by the demonstrators and say hello".

For days, incumbent Trump has been speaking of alleged electoral fraud and accusing the Democrats of wanting to "steal" his election.

To date, the electoral authorities have not reported any major irregularities in any state.

On Thursday, high-ranking representatives of the US electoral authorities even firmly rejected allegations of fraud in a joint statement: The election on November 3rd was "the safest in American history".
