A fire broke out in a restaurant in an old building at 562 Canton Road, Yau Ma Tei, causing 7 deaths and 8 deaths. The casualties included an 8-year-old boy.

Another parent from the same school also died in the fire
Jordan Road Government Primary School issued a notice saying that the school learned yesterday that the third grade student and his father, and the sixth grade student’s father had tragically passed away in the Yau Ma Tei fire. The teachers and students of the school felt sad and extended their sincere greetings to their families.

Classmate Alisa said that yesterday the head teacher announced the news of Ryan's death to the class. At that time, the teacher couldn't help crying, and other students were in tears.
Ryan in Alisa's mind is a very active and humorous person. They often joke with each other and Ryan also participates in the football team.
After learning of Ryan's death, Alisa wrote him a letter hoping that he would be happy in heaven.
Alisa's cousin Pam said that Alisa was very sad after learning that Ryan passed away and kept crying. She also revealed to her family that Ryan was her good friend. After Alisa wrote the letter to Ryan, she once told her family that she could not deliver the letter to Ryan. .
Currently, Pam takes care of Alisa with her aunt and pays attention to her emotions.
Another parent said that his son was a classmate of Ryan, describing Ryan as being very confident and active. The son and Ryan would go to another classmate’s house to play together from time to time.
