Code name: Mission H24.
On the eve of its centenary, the famous endurance event is reviving its vocation as a test bed for new technologies.
With this in mind, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has tasked a working group made up of manufacturers and equipment suppliers to define the technical regulations concerning hydrogen cars.
"We hope to have at least three cars at the start in 2024"
, says Bernard Niclot, the program manager at ACO.
At the same time, a laboratory racing car designed and operated by the company Green GT is multiplying the tests.
It can rely on the involvement of several prestigious equipment manufacturers: Michelin for tires;
Symbio, a joint venture between Michelin and Faurecia, for the fuel cell;
Total for the supply of hydrogen and the development of the world's first mobile station;
Plastic Omnium for tanks.
