The head of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria, Dr. Stanislav Grosbic, affirmed that the boycott of the international conference on the return of refugees that was held in Damascus last week by Western countries is new evidence that these countries that pay lip service to humanity are not keen to solve the crisis that Syria is suffering from.
"The countries that boycotted the conference are the same that caused the crisis that Syria has been suffering from for years, which began with a foreign conspiracy and terrorist aggression that led to a great tragedy for Syrians," Grossbich said in a statement to SANA's correspondent in Prague.
He described the western countries ’boycott of the conference instead of cooperating with the legitimate Syrian government in resolving the refugee issue as a" stain, "explaining that this matter reflects the true image of the West, away from lip service to the slogans of humanity and concern for security and peace in the world.
Grossbich referred to the impact of the sanctions and coercive measures imposed by the European Union and the United States on the reconstruction of Syria and creating conditions for the return of the displaced to their homes, pointing to the aggressive and extortionary role that the Turkish regime plays in this context.
