The stuntman Vincent Raft, who gained fame for his flights over the world's tallest tower and alongside a jumbo jet with engines strapped to his back, died today (Tuesday) in an accident that occurred during training in the desert in Dubai.

Raft, 36, from France, was nicknamed "Jetman" after the team he was a member of.

He has gained much sympathy on the net in recent years.

The group did not elaborate on the circumstances of the accident, but noted that it was cooperating with the investigation of the case.

"Vince was a talented athlete and a much-loved and respected team member," they added.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Among other things, Raft performed a spectacular skydive from the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai, the tallest building and structure in the world (828 meters).

In other videos he can be seen hovering over the princesses sky while scattering colored smoke.

In 2015 he flew with his Swiss partner Yves Rossi alongside the A380 Airbus.
