Eng. Ghassan Tarraf, Director General of the Syrian Gas Company, revealed the full implementation of the annual production and investment plans developed during the previous period, as a result of the concerted efforts of the company's workers and cadres, self-reliance and local manufacturing of the damaged parts with national experiences, as the company achieved savings that exceeded three and a half billion pounds.

Tarraf stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the most important projects that the company is implementing is a project to supply and install compressors, turbines and pumps at the entrance to a gas plant in the south of the central region with the aim of preserving the quantities of gas available in the subsidiary fields and surrounding the plant and drawing the largest possible amount of gas reserves in addition to the North Damascus project Which aims to invest gas from the wells of Qara - Al Bureij - and Dairatia - and the fields surrounding the area.

Tarraf pointed out that among the projects that the company is currently implementing is the rehabilitation project for the Al-Ark station, which has been subjected to systematic sabotage by armed terrorist organizations, in addition to the project to establish a line and a pressure reduction station in Latakia, which is implemented in cooperation with the General Establishment for Electricity Generation, and the project aims to supply the power plant under implementation with gas. .

He said: There are many projects that aim to connect new gas wells as soon as the drilling work is completed by the Syrian Oil Company, in addition to implementing some important modifications in all gas installations, especially the South Central Region gas plant and the gas network, with the aim of increasing operational flexibility and maintaining gas supplies in Emergency cases.

 For his part, Fadi Ibrahim, Director of South Central Region Gas Investment, explained that about seven and a half million cubic meters of gas are processed per day intended for electric power plants, indicating that about sixty tons of domestic gas per day are currently produced and the unit produces hydrocarbon condensate that are exported to the refineries.

Ibrahim pointed to the importance of the completion of the new compressors section, which consists of a group of gas compressors operated by four turbines, indicating that it is expected to be put into service at the end of the first half of next year, and when it is operational, it will contribute to increasing the quantities rented and produced.
