Today, the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced that the country had recorded 35,918 new cases of the emerging coronavirus and 606 deaths during the past twenty-four hours.
The ministry added that about six million cases of HIV infection have been recorded since the start of the pandemic, while the official total number of deaths rose to 16,061 cases.
Brazil ranks third after the United States and India in the list of countries most affected by the virus in terms of the number of infections and second after the United States in terms of deaths.
