This year's winter flu peak is approaching, and the new crown pneumonia epidemic is not over. The Hospital Authority announced today (19th) the contingency measures taken in response to the peak winter service.
Zhang Zifeng, Chief Administrative Manager (Network Operation) of the Hospital Authority, pointed out that the bureau has allocated 1 billion yuan to the seven networks, opened 416 new hospital beds, and recruited 170 doctors and 1,140 nurses to cope with possible situations.
The HA has also ordered more than 100,000 test kits that incorporate influenza and new coronaviruses, which will be put into use as soon as January. It is believed that it will speed up the clinical decision of medical staff.
As for the temporary hospital next to the Asia Expo, it will start trial operation at the end of January. Initially, it will not open all 800 beds, but will only open one or two wards, providing dozens of beds.
