Iran has renewed its demand for the immediate and unconditional annexation of the Israeli occupation entity to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and subjecting all its activities to comprehensive International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Kazem Gharib Abadi, as saying in a speech during the hypothetical quarterly meeting of the agency's board of governors that the Zionist entity, as the only party not a member of the NPT in the Middle East, is preventing the globalization of this document.
Gharib Abadi explained that the Zionist entity’s possession of secret nuclear capabilities, coupled with its complete disregard for international laws and norms, constitutes a serious threat to the security and stability of the world and the region, stressing that its immediate and unconditional annexation to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and subjecting all its nuclear materials, activities and installations to comprehensive agency safeguards is the only step to confront The current nuclear crisis in the Middle East.
The Iranian delegate pointed out that "resorting to a refusal to join the treaty and not concluding a comprehensive safeguards agreement with the agency has become a well-known model for evading the burdens of full implementation of obligations and subject to verification of peaceful activities."
