Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Isabelle Nanty or even Nagui sign a strong text alerting the Minister of Culture to the danger of live recordings.

The entertainment world raises its fist.

After the rant of the French actress Camille Lellouche, it is the turn of the actress Caroline Proust and the director Alain Fromager to challenge the Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot.

In an open letter published on November 22, they are alarmed at the use of platforms as responses to the temporary shutdown of the performing arts.

Behind them, nearly 200 signatories such as the actors Reda Kateb, Bruno Solo, Jean-Pierre Darroussin and Isabelle Nanty, the host Nagui or the writer Stéphane Foenkinos.

Anxious to overcome this second phase of confinement, the entertainment world nevertheless deplores the solutions found to adapt to the crisis.

Among them, the place of streaming platforms (Facebook, YouTube ...) used by artists.

If the tribune admits that

"the fear of losing the link so difficult to create with the spectator obliges to reinvent oneself

", the counting of the number of views, as well as the observation of the comments of live spectators, influential according to them, in a way negative, on the good perception of the show.

"

The theater is a ritualized place where two separate communities meet, where one suspends its activity and the other deploys it

", explains the open letter.

A ritual that is usually done in silence and that live recordings inevitably prevent.

"

We are there, alive, trembling but still standing

"

Further on, Caroline Proust and Alain Fromager question the free admission of these recordings: “

How can we accept that these tax-exempt platforms benefit for free from the best of what cultural institutions produce?

Isn't that an aberration?

".

For them, only one observation: “

These dangerous solutions

” could also, in the long term, lead to “

the gradual disappearance of theaters

”.

The two actors of the entertainment world thus implore Roselyne Bachelot to "

find a remedy in the face of these new demiurges

", as they call them.

Adding that they are still there, very "

alive, trembling, but still standing

".
