These are the possible Dax climbers

2020-11-25T09:29:33.564Z

Deutsche Börse wants to add ten new companies to its leading index Dax in September 2021. The market capitalization becomes the most important criterion. From today's perspective, these corporations have a good chance of advancing to the top tier of the stock market.

The aircraft manufacturer

Airbus

would be a heavyweight in the Dax in one fell swoop.

The European group is already included in the French leading index CAC 40 and in the EuroStoxx 50.

At the Deutsche Börse, it was only enough for the MDax so far, and trading turnover was too low for promotion to the top division.

This criterion should now be dropped if the Dax is increased to 40 members.

With the medical technology manufacturer

Siemens Healthineers, Siemens

would get a second entry in the Dax - although so far only 15 percent of the shares are in the free float, which is decisive for the inclusion.

That will soon change anyway when the capital increase for the takeover of Varian is completed.

With Siemens Energy, a third Dax member from the family would even be possible.

The laboratory equipment supplier

Sartorius

is profiting from the Corona crisis.

The share price has doubled since spring.

However, the company itself is skeptical about how sustainable the upswing will be.

Online retailer

Zalando,

however, emphasizes long-term growth.

The expensive expansion always brings losses for individual quarters.

Depending on the interpretation, this could contradict the new criteria of the stock exchange, DAX members should be proven to be "sustainably profitable".

After all, Zalando has mostly been in the black since 2014 - in contrast to the youngest Dax climber Delivery Hero.

However, there is no risk of subsequent exclusion.

The business model of the reinsurer

Hannover Re

is completely down-to-earth, and in

2009 it was in the Dax as an anti-crisis share for half a year.

So far, the fact that the majority of the shares owned by the main shareholder Talanx have been withdrawn from the free float has spoken against a return.

The fragrance and flavor manufacturer

Symrise

was already hotly traded as a replacement candidate for the Dax-relegated Wirecard in August.

However, according to its previous rules, Deutsche Börse strictly adhered to the ranking according to market value and trading volume - and Delivery Hero was just ahead.

The chemicals trader

Brenntag

had long announced the Dax rise.

So far it has not been enough for the former Deutsche Bahn subsidiary, which went public in 2010.

For the biotechnology company

Qiagen

, inclusion in the Dax would be a special punchline.

As early as 2010, long-time boss Peer Schatz thought he was about to achieve this goal when speaking to manager magazin.

Long years of disappointed expectations followed, which should lead to the sale to US company Thermo Fisher in March 2020 of all places.

At the same time, the business with corona tests began to boom, the deal fell through - and now the way to the Dax seems clear.

Most likely, the new rule "sustainably profitable" could be used against the cook box mail order company

HelloFresh

to prevent a second case of Delivery Hero.

As stated by Deutsche Börse, namely two financial reports in a row with positive Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization), things are looking good for HelloFresh.

The profit threshold was reached in 2019.

With the housing company

LEG Immobilien

- after Vonovia and Deutsche Wohnen - a third major

landlord

would join the Dax.

Deutsche Börse does not want to influence the mix of industries in the future either.
