Today, the ministerial committee in charge of tracking the implementation of projects in Homs reviewed the reality of a number of service and vital projects in the governorate in addition to the agricultural roads and fire lines that are being built.

The projects reviewed by the committee, consisting of the Ministers of Higher Education, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim and Water Resources, Dr. Tamam Raad, included a number of laboratories in Hassia Industrial City, the irrigation channel “Homs Hama” that is being rehabilitated, Al-Baath University Hospital and Muhammad Al-Hindawi School in Al-Shammas neighborhood and the craft area in Al-Hawash in addition to Fire lines that are slit in the western countryside.

Dr. Ibrahim indicated in a press statement that the tour included the industrial city, which includes important laboratories and companies that support the national economy, schools, the extent of applying the precautionary measures, in addition to the university hospital.

Dr. Ibrahim indicated that the completion rate in the hospital has reached 95%, and that as a first step, clinics and analysis laboratories will be opened soon, and the take-off will take place completely after about seven to eight months.

The main irrigation canal and branch channels were also inspected, in addition to a visit to the craft area in the edges, which includes 410 divisions. The most important difficulties they face were examined, in addition to inspecting work in building fire lines in the area near Ali.

Dr. Ibrahim referred to the expanded meeting that followed the tour in the governorate building, which included directors of service departments, heads of federations and members of the People’s Assembly, during which all the difficulties encountered in all projects were discussed, with special emphasis on the agricultural sector.

In his turn, the Minister of Water Resources indicated in a press statement that the estimated cost of the Homs Hama irrigation network maintenance project is close to 400 million for the main canal, while the secondary channels are about 300 million, and a new contract worth 100 million has been signed for the rehabilitation of some secondary channels, indicating that the main channel is expected to be completed with The first contract before the end of the year and to be put into service in the next season. Several contracts have also been concluded for the rehabilitation and maintenance of irrigation networks of the upper Orontes and small dams.

In his turn, Eng. Bassam Mamdouh Parsik, Governor of Homs, indicated that these development projects serve the governorate of Homs, pointing out that the completion rates are good in some of them and there are delays in a number of them due to the stoppage due to the Corona pandemic and the fluctuation and change of prices.

In statements to SANA's correspondent, Khaled al-Mawsili of the military construction in Hama and the director of the university hospital project said that after about six months, the project is expected to end, and that the medical clinics will be delivered after fifteen days and opened. From the site of the construction of fire roads in the town near Ali between the engineer Nazih Al-Rifai that the Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with government agencies during the period of fires, worked on constructing about 7 km of roads and removing them, and then plans were developed for the construction of new roads at the governorate level, where a plan of 55 km and 400 was developed. Meters have been implemented to date 20 km, 10 of which were the construction of new roads and 10 removal and restoration of previously opened lines, and they are continuing to work through 8 mechanisms.

From the site of the rehabilitation of the irrigation canal of Homs Hama, Eng. Ismail Ismail, Director of Water Resources in Homs, indicated that the project is at an estimated cost of 334 million, which is being implemented by the General Company for Water Projects, Homs branch, and is about to be completed, pointing out that the length of the main canal in the governorate is 47 km, from which three main branches and Troy 11 One thousand hectares in the northern countryside, which constitutes a food basket for the country.
