President Bashar Al-Assad was sworn in today as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad.
President al-Assad stressed during his meeting with Minister Al-Miqdad after taking the oath of the important role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whether by confronting the political and diplomatic war and refuting the distortion and misinformation campaigns Syria is exposed to, or by strengthening relations with friendly and allied countries and opening new horizons for cooperation with it in various fields.
His Excellency also indicated the importance of continuous communication with the Syrian communities in the countries of expatriate, and the intensification of efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all state institutions, in coordination with friendly countries, in order to accelerate the return of Syrian refugees and create appropriate conditions for them in their cities and villages.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Arnous.
