The sparrows are already whistling from the roofs: In Herrschings Mitte, on the corner of Mühlfelder and Luitpoldstrasse, the Codello company will open a new branch next spring.

Sabine Kamprath, HR and office manager of the company, promises: “It will be really nice.” The outlet store in Hechendorf closes its doors after Christmas.

Herrsching / Hechendorf

- For many years the Rossmann drugstore dominated the lively corner in Herrsching.

Not everyone liked the boxes and pallets that were often stacked in front of the entrance.

Now the problem has solved itself.

The drugstore breaks down at the end of the month and moves into the industrial area on Gewerbestrasse.

The fashion company Codello, which last operated an outlet branch in Hechendorf, will close it there and open a new store with a new concept in Herrsching at the beginning of the year.

“Next week we'll have a look at the rooms,” Sabine Kamprath reported to Starnberg Merkur.

Only in the near future will it be decided when exactly it will open in spring.

Before that, however, possibly on December 9th or 10th, Codello would like to open a kind of pop-up store in the new premises on Mühlfelder Straße.

The outlet store in Hechendorf should also remain open during the Christmas business.

Codello in Herrsching will look very different from the store in Hechendorf.

Out of consideration for nearby fashion stores and the location, there will be no more women's clothing.

“It's all running out,” says Kamprath.

One will focus on accessories.

The range also includes shawls and scarves, gloves from Röckl, and possibly fine office supplies such as notebooks or special pencils.

"It will be very nice, also with different furniture than in Hechendorf", announced Kamprath.

This marks the end of an era in Hechendorf.

In 1980 the former Karstadt manager Heinz Schnabl and his wife Annelie bought the Munich company founded in 1928 by Rinaldo Codello.

In 1986 the company moved to the Steinebacher Weg in Hechendorf, and in 2014 it moved into a building in the inter-communal business park in Inning.

This location was given up again at the end of 2018.

Before that, however, at the end of 2017, the Schnabl family sold the company to Christopher Schwarzer and Beate Rapp, who are still the owners today.

The fact that the Hechendorf location is now being given up is not least due to its location.

"We are really a bit in the pampas there," says Kamprath.

Coincidentally, no one passes there, “you really have to go there carefully”.

The company expects more from the location in Herrsching.

"We're looking forward to it."
