US President Donald Trump said during the night (Thursday-Friday) that if the Electoral College gives its votes to Democratic President-elect Joe Biden, and confirms its victory, then it will leave the White House, Reuters news agency reported tonight.

Trump made the remarks while answering reporters' questions tonight, and after speaking at the White House at a Thanksgiving conference he held with military personnel.

He was asked if he would leave the White House building if the Electoral College confirmed Biden's victory in the election.

Trump replied, "I will certainly do this and you know it," but he went on to question the kosher nature of the election results and stressed that "this election was a scam."

This surprising announcement from Trump comes after more than three weeks have passed since Election Day, which took place on November 3, and now it stands out as the most decisive statement the president has released regarding his election loss.

According to the current electoral count, Biden leads Trump with 306 electors, over 270 electors needed to achieve victory, compared to Trump who holds only 232 electors.

In fact, President Trump, who has so far refused to admit that he lost the election and even claims that they were "stolen", declared that if the Electoral College, which is expected to convene on December 14, declares that Biden won then he will accept the result and leave the White House without opposition.
