Ankara - SANA

A former officer in the Turkish intelligence service confirmed that the regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan is involved in supporting terrorist organizations in Syria with money and weapons, citing the arrest of Turkish public prosecutors who stopped trucks full of weapons in 2014 that were destined for Syrian territory.

The Turkish Zaman newspaper quoted the former director of the Gendarmerie Intelligence in the Turkish capital, Ankara, Colonel Rdal Torna, as saying in a group of tweets that the incident of the trucks that were arrested before entering the Syrian territories was not the first and not the last, adding that “Turkish intelligence trucks were heading to Syria within the framework of An organized arms smuggling operation.

Media outlets shed light on the incident of intelligence trucks and placed Erdogan's regime in great embarrassment, as it initially claimed that the trucks that were stopped by prosecutors and gendarmes carrying "food aid" were leaked, but videos documenting the weapons loaded with trucks were leaked and the people who published these were tried. The information accused of "disseminating information harmful to public security."

It is noteworthy that the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet previously published two video clips showing the weapons and military equipment that the intelligence service trucks were trying to transport to terrorists in Syria on January 19, 2014, which prompted the Erdogan regime to pursue the prosecutors and police officers who stopped the trucks and put them in prison .

Torna published those tweets following statements made by the former Turkish officer Nuri Bozkir to the Ukrainian press in which he confirmed that he was participating with Turkish intelligence in smuggling weapons to terrorists in Syria and elsewhere, explaining that “In the beginning, small arms and ammunition were sent, but then portable missile systems and explosives were sent. And parts for weapons ”.

Bozkir also revealed that the weapons' money was coming from Qatar in containers that were then transported to a military base.

Torna said that there are five public prosecutors and nine gendarmerie officers in prison, in addition to that more than 50 defendants are awaiting the final verdict in the intelligence truck case, and perhaps many of them will return to prison with a final ruling, demanding the immediate release of the prosecutors and gendarmerie imprisoned in this case, and taking legal action. Against members of organized crime organizations who are clearly involved in arms smuggling.

Erdogan's authorities had charged police and public prosecutors who participated in the operation to stop trucks in 2014 and arrested them at different times.
