The Biden couple have two dogs - Major and Champ, a pair of German Shepherd dogs, Biden's favorite breed since he was young. Major, adopted by the couple two years ago from a dog rescue shelter in the city of Delaware where they live. In doing so, he became the first adopted dog to enter the White House, which could certainly help animal organizations fighting the popularity of adopted dogs over purebred and "purchased" ones.
